Gentle Leader

Gentle Leaders help to stop dogs pulling on the lead, gently and effectively. How? Your lead clips under the nose, giving you excellent head control. When the dog pulls, he is gently pulled round to face you. The dog learns that pulling doesn't get what he wants - to move forward. Instead, he finds that he's against the direction he wants to go in.

The Gentle Leader exerts light pressure on the nose and the back of the neck which also help to generally calm the dog, making the Gentle Leader, the preferred option for excitable or for aggressive dogs, whilst also providing excellent head control. It works well in a training class environment too, where your puppy or dog is just a bit excitable.

One unique aspect of the Gentle Leader is that the nose loop is adjustable. A clip holds the nose loop in place even when your dog's not pulling or actually on the lead. So, the nose loop can't be "pawed" off.

The Gentle Leader pack, comes with fitting instructions, and free training guide. It's fitted snuggly round the neck and nose, and fitted correctly, it shouldn't come off. Whilst getting your dog used to the Gentle Leader, some people prefer to have an improved feeling of security but using a double training lead, with one lead clip on the collar and one clip on the Gentle Leader. Or, some like to use a halti link which connects the collar and the halter.

Gentle Leader Harness

This is also called the Premier Harness, or the Easy Walk Harness. These types of harness work by giving you control of the front of the dog - steering from the front. When they pull, they have nothing to pull against and are turned to face you. It's easy to fit onto the dog, as you fit it over the head and clip under the body - so no need to get the dog to step in.
