This Dog Brick dog puzzle toy is a level 2-3 difficulty toy - so not for beginners, but loads of fun. It is made from plastic, and has wee boxes where you put treats and then slide the covers over. Encourage your dog to then slide the blocks and get the treat reward.
The reason for the 2-3 difficulty is that you can start by making the game easier by removing the central bones so that there are just the sliding parts. Then as your dog gets better, you can add in the bones, which need to be removed first - click on the large pic link to see more.

This is what we've all been waiting for!! A good quality rubber food ball! Why - because with all these wooden floors now-adays, the big canac ball can really get sometimes too noisy, and perhaps damage things. The Canac ball is still great certainly - and much tougher than this one. But this one is nice and quiet...
This is a level 2 difficulty toy - that means that the food doesn't just come out when the ball is rolled all the time - there is a rubber infill structure inside the toy that makes it more difficult for the food to come out.
The toy is filled through the small hole that the food comes out, so is a bit fidly - but you only need a small amount of food to last for quite a while.
Available in 4 sizes - 6cm and 11cm
Please do take care on introducing these toys - you need to help your dog learn how to use it. And also, if your dog has difficulty with frustration or is lazy (be honest!!), as this is a level 2 toy, they may either get frustrated or just give up. Easier toys are the Kong Stuff-a-Ball or the Molecule Balls.

These food balls and puzzles are a great way to provide your dog with good quality mental stimulation. They're kind of like playing snakes and ladders or ludo or solitaire - or chess or draughts for your dog.
The food balls are a great way to keep your dog occupied for a while on their own. Put dry kibble in these balls instead of in their food bowls, and the meal will last much longer.
Food fussy dog? It's amazing really, but I've lost count of the number of times people have said that, then give the dog a food ball and they're happy with the same kibble. Just a different form of eating, and much more rewarding as really, these food balls simulate a natural scavanging behaviour. They are also a great way to teach your dog to cope better with frustrations and be more patient.

These tough Canac food ball toys are made from a really hard plastic, with a two tone colour. They can be a wee bit fiddly to fill, through the small hole, but are also then more difficult to empty - so a harder grade puzzle than the molecule balls, for instance.
Which toy to get? Well, although these food balls provide the same function, they are both really different experiences for your dog - different games to play. My dogs have one of each and we swap them around for a wider experience.
