Prevent your puppy turning into problem!

Puppy Pre-school is like play-school for puppies. It focusses on allowing your puppy to interact and play with the other puppies in the group. It's carefully managed - just like play-school - to ensure that there is no bullying and to allow the wee timid puppies to build their confidence. And the play is controlled so that the puppies will still listen to Mum (or Dad!).

Pawsability Puppy Pre-School is a short 3 week course, held in Perth, which aims to help you to really understand your puppy whilst also allowing your puppy to safely play with other puppies. We cover lots of important puppy topics such as toilet training, nipping and biting, jumping up, socialisation and make a start at training. We also start to teach your puppy manners, helping them to understand how we want them to behave in our big world.

The program is generally aimed at puppies up to 16 weeks. (see important puppy questions).

Pawability Puppy Pre-School is part of the Pawsability Puppy Program which covers Puppy Early Learning - private or group sessions, Puppy Pre-School and Puppy Classes.

How many people will be there? No more than 6 puppys per group.

Is there time for questions? Yes, each week there will be time for questions and time to work on helping you out with your puppy's problems. It's all about helping you and your puppy - so the format is very flexible, focussing on your questions and problems. However, these sessions focus on your puppy's interactions with the other puppies, and we tend to get a b it distracted with the puppies... not surprisingly so - so if you want some time to talk in detail about understanding your puppy, then think about a Puppy Early Learning Workshop, or 1-1 session .

Important Puppy Questions :

1. When is it safe for your puppy to come along to the puppy play and socialisation sessions?

The usual answer to this question is - after they've completed their vaccination course. However, the best advice here is really available from your vet - they know whether anything's going on in the area, and they may well be happy with you safely taking your puppy out after their 1st injection. Please contact them and ask for their advice.

2. My puppy hates the car - what do I do?

Always make sure your puppy is totally secure in the car. Help them to become used to it by spending some time in there with the engine off. Give them some treats and pats, and play a wee game. Have frequent short sessions of this.

3. My puppy is very timid / very boisterous - is it ok to come along?

If you have any concerns, please do call us to chat this through. However, puppy play is controlled and only well matched puppies are allowed to play with each other. This way, timid puppies are not threatened and therefore become more confident. And equally, the boisterous puppies are taught how to behave nicely with other puppies.

4. My puppy is 15 weeks old, is that too late?

This really depends on the size and nature of your puppy - please phone to find out.
