What can Dog Behaviour Therapy help with ?

The understanding of dog behaviour, and pet behaviour, in general, has taken great leaps forward in recent years. Gone are the days where scientists proclaimed that dogs were devoid of emotion. Nowadays, we understand far more about animal psychology, physiology and evolution. We now know that animals learn best through positive feedback - and why - and we use that knowledge to help your dog, and to help you understand your dog.

Motivation is a key element of dog behaviour (good or bad!) - why do they do what they do? Dog Behaviour Therapy is an in-depth and holistic process and is about figuring out these motivations and working on the dog's emotional state to help them cope with whatever it is that's distressing or exciting them.

We treat all dogs as individuals - just like people, dogs can react quite differently to a given circumstance. But the fundamental problem is that they have simply selected a course of action which is inappropriate or which we don't like. Dog behaviour therapy can help with problems such as
