Large Dog Supplies, Toys, Training Aids and Chews

It can sometimes be difficult getting hold of dog toys, chews, collars and other things for large dogs. To help, we've gathered together all the dog stuff we can find for large dogs. Large Dog Toys

Original kongs can be stuffed with food - if you're yusing dry food, then mix it up with something to hold to food together, like some mushed veg, or a wee bit of cheese or chicken for instance. The Large and Extra Large Kongs - which are available in both strong black, and original - are 13cmx90cm and 15X10cm.

The kong stuff-a-balls are yet another great 3 in 1 toy. You can squeeze cheese or other tasty morsels into the grooves; put biscuits or dry food into the ball - where the dog rolls that around and is rewarded by treats; and then it's a bouncy ball too. The grooves have rubber serated edges to further help with keeping your dogs teeth clean - with or without tooth paste.

The extra large one is 10cm in diameter, and the large ball is 90cm.

Dental Kongs - the large Dental Kong is 13cm wide by 80cm, and is uniquely shaped for large dogs. It has the benefit of not only being able to have treats inserted, but also has ridges which help to clean the teeth, which can be filled with a tasty treats or tasty tooth paste.

This Goodie Ship, again is great for big dogs. Its the shape of a flying saucer, and can roll about or be held whilst the dog extracts biscuits or treats from the holes. The diameter is about 13cm.

Large Dog Chews

	These Tuff-Chews are really really tough. And, we've just recently managed to get hold of some extra large ones. Only available in Chicken Flavour (yellow) just now. Or, mint-flavour Dentease chews - so long as your dog is not a really strong chewer.

Leads and Collars for Big Dogs

We tend to prefer nice plain, but practical, strong and long lasting dog collars. That's why we only stock the Canac range. They are easily washable, and really well made. The large lead and collars are 25mm wide, and made from soft, but strong nylon. The collar is adjustable from 40-60cm with a good quality snap-clip.

The large halti-harness is an excellent training aid to help your dog stop pulling.

Large breeds need extra special attention to training, and early socialisation. You simply can't get away with a large and barky Great Dane or Rottie. Make sure you get your dog from a very reputable breeder and ask questions about what's been done with early training and socialisation. You want your puppy to be happy and confident, and not to have learned to bully their litter mates, and equally not to have learned to bully either. If you are thinking of a large breed, ave a really good think about it. They really do need alot of space - simply because of their size.
