If you're having problems with your dog then a 1-1 behaviour therapy consultation may be the right answer.

This is an indepth consultation that gets to the root of your dog's problem (or problems!), and provides you with a behaviour modification program.

The session lasts for about 2 hours and covers:

• understanding your dog's history
• what the problems are
• why they are happening
• what needs to be done
• how to go about that
• practical training exercises

Our aim is for your to leave the session with

• a full understanding of the behaviour process, and
• a full understanding of how to train your dog.
• a behaviour and training pack,
• and your personal behaviour program report follows soon after.

Most behaviour problems require dog training. And so, most of the time, the session includes a practical element teaching you how to go about the required training.

Where? The sessions are mostly at Ardene House Veterinary Practice in Kingswells. Home visits may be possible in some specific situations.

How? Please download the vet referral form and take it to your vet, and ask them to fill in the form. YOur vet may require you to book an appointment with them to determine that your dog is healthy. Your vet will then send the form in, and you will be contacted regarding an appointment.

What else? A questionnaire is also required, which we will send to you once you have set up an appointment.

How much? The cost to develop your behaviour program is £145. This includes all aspects noted above here. Phone and email support is included. Home visits, further training, and more than 1 dog is extra.

How many sessions will I need? Most behaviour problems can be dealt with in the 1 session (probably about 90%). This isn't to say that the problem will be fixed. It's not magic... it takes time. However, both the behaviour and the training programs follow clear logical steps that are simple to understand and straight forward to implement. There are times, ofcourse, when behaviour problems are too complex to sort with 1 session. We may be able to provide you with some indication of this when you set up your appointment. Or it may only transpire during the consult.
